DJ Avo

It's the bottom of the 9th two outs one base runner. A one and one fastball is thrown to Avery Simonds. With a slight smirk on his face, Avery swings makes contact and hits a game winning home run into the night. He jogs the bases with not even a smile since this wasn't a new thing for him.

At an early age Avery was very successful at baseball. His athletic  ability allowed him to succeed at what ever position he choose to play. He enjoyed the challenge of playing against the best around the country. While traveling Avery spent a great deal of time listening to his Cd player. All he listened to was southern rap music until he heard Jay-Z's hard knock life. Listening to that song opened and expanded his mind.

At age 15 Avery began djying. Having nothing but a free program he downloaded. He began learning the basics of djying. While also writing rhymes in his free time. He slowly began the transition from baseball to music.

He linked up with C.K.S label mates A.J. Coles, A.P. , and B Snell in high school and quickly fell in love with the music they created.

At 19 he released his first mixtape entitled Cakin Vol.1. While putting together that mixtape Avery learned the hard work and the dedication he was going to have to put into his music in order to be great. He than made a tough decision to quit baseball and do music full time.

Now at 22 he is VP of Beyond Average Entertainment and CKS Ent. In 2010 alone he dropped four mixtapes including Cakin Vol. 2, On Board and This Is A mixtape Vol.3. Before the year ends he will have completed a full college tour and will be looking to do another one soon after the current one ends.

Avery has learned to live by a quote from another artist " I got a lot of mistakes none I would take back cause it made me who I am today." - Young Tone. With that quote in mind Avery continues to work hard towards his dreams that are seemingly coming true
